Action Action

To be honest i was drawn to this band by their Album cover. It reminded me of the characters in The Corpse Bride. Action Action have a very unique sound to them. Their like a happier and at times darker version of The Queens of the Stoneage, well at least judging by the songs i've heard of them. Their really good and I'm gonna buy their album the first day that it comes out in Canada (Feb. 28th I think), that is if i can find it...

Men, Women and Children

This band, renewed my hopes that exciting rock music that can make you dance but doesn't make you super depressed still exist (other than Metric and Morningwood). So far I've heard 2 songs from their debut album, and omg let me tell you their sooo freaking amazing. The album is being released on March 21st in Canada. I hope its gonna be the best album eva!!!
Kinda Sounds Like: Fall out Boy abd the Killers mixed with Scissor Sisters and Jamiroquai

Gwen Stefani not only pregnant, shes releasing a sixth single of her first solo album "L.A.M.B.". Now the news of her releasing "Crash" as a single may not be anything new to most of you, but i bet that you havent seen the video!!! watch here

Nelly Furtado thankfully changed her mind and is not releasing "Maneater" for the first single anymore (thank god!!!). The first single of Nelly Furtado's "Loose" is now set to be "Promisecuous Girl". Now i havent heard the new song , but believe me it cant be worse than Maneater.

Nelly Furtado - Loose*
Release Date: 20-3-2006
The Deal: Third Album by The Canadian singer/songwriter. By The sounds of it, she has sold out and gone all Gwen sounding... which I don't really like... Maneater could be the next Hollaback Girl though...

Review: Richard Ashcroft - Keys To the World

Richard Ashcroft, as some may remember, fronted the popular 90's band "The Verve". When the band released their legendry album "Urban Hymns", everything seemed to be going great. They were getting great reviews and had amazing record sales. However, a little while after Urban Hymns, the band broke up and Richard Ashcroft swore that he'd never sing again. The reason behind their breakup was apparently due to the fact that their record company had "screwed them over with their own money". Now, a couple of years later, Richard Ashcroft is back with another solo album.
This album sounds Like Urban Hymns Vol.2 and this one being a crappier and cheaper version of the original. Don't get me wrong, this is an awesome album, it has songs that have the potential to be considered classic one day. However, the rest of the album is not as great.
If you are an Oasis, Dylan, or Verve fan, this album is made for you. The question that remains is, was this worth Richard Ashcroft braking his promise??
Overall: 3/5
Key Tracks: Break The Night With Colour, Keys to the World
Kinda Like: The Essential Bob Dylan - Bob Dylan, Urban Hymns - The Verve

Review: Tori Amos - Fade To Red: Video Collection (DVD)

With a carreer spaning over 20 years, and having around 30 music videos, it was about time Tori Amos released a Video Collection. This release by Tori, is a collection of 2 DVDs, featuring 20 of her best, and in my appinion some of her worst videos from the past 15 years. This collection shows Tori from her earliest videos such as "China" or "Crucify", which featured a bushy red haired Tori in her early 30's, to her newest videos such as "Sleeps With Butterflies" which features a grown, mature and way less angry sounding Tori in her mid 40's.
What I didnt like about this Collection is that they left my favourite video "Rasberry Swirll" out!! Also, There are practically no extra features in this collection. However other than that, this a great collection of videos and is definately worth the money.
Overall: 4/5
Key Videos:: A Sorta Fairytale, Spark, 1000 Oceans

Review: Tiga - Sexor

A few months ago, I heard that Tiga is comming out with a new album. To be honest, I wasn't really excited. The one memory of tiga I had before hearing this album was Nelly's cover of "Hot In Here" and I really really hated it. However I saw the video for his new single "You Gonna Want Me" on T.V the other day, and I really loved it, so I thought I might give the album a try.
I must admit, I didn't expect the album to be this good. The album, which is a mix of of covers/new materials is a prime example of great Electronica music. Covers in this album, which include Nine Inch Nails' "Down In It" and Public Enemy's "Louder than a Bomb" show a darker and more mature sounding tiga while other songs like "Far From Home" showcase some amazing Electronic music.
If you're looking for an electronica album that is not too plastic and glamourous, and can still move you, this is as good as it gets.
Overall: 4/5
Key Tracks: Far From Home, You Gonna Want Me, Down In It
Kinda Like: Goldfrapp - Black Cherry, DaftPunk - DaftPunk
Listen To: Far From Home, Down In It

Review: Placebo - Meds

With the last album "Sleeping With Ghosts" selling over a million copies, expectations for Placebo's new album, was very high. I must say, This album was definately worth the wait. With this album, placebo has continued to experiment with different sounds and have done a very successfull job of making a record full of heart wenching lyrics and melodies, which perhaps is their best effort yet.

Songs like "A Broken Promise" and "Song to say Goodbye", are prime examples of how much the band has grown musically, helping to make a masterpiece album.
Overall: 4.5/5
Key Tracks: Meds, Infa-Red, Follow The Cops Back Home, Broken Promise, Song to Say Goodbye, Because I Want you
Kinda Like: Hole - Live Through This, Sonic Youth - Goo, David Bowie - Hours
Listen To: Song To Say Goodbye

Review: Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit

On 2006's offering, Belle & Sebastian follow the sounds and patterns of their old albums to put out another great record. The Life Pursuit, is yet another astonishing album by Belle & Sebastian lyric wise and musically. However the problem is that, they sound too much like themselves, as if in the last 10 years, they have made no changes to their sound. True, this album is a bit more upbeat, however this set of songs could just be from from '96's "Tigermilk". If this album was their first album, it would totally unique, amazing and origional, and don't get me wrong, its still very good, however I'm starting to get bored...
Overall: 3/5
Key Tracks: Funny Little Frog, The Act of Apostle II
Kinda Like: "Chutes Too Narrow" by the Shins
Listen to: Funny Little Frog

Morningwood

another band from New York that I absolutely adore (other ones being Blondie, Scissor Sisters, The Strokes, etc etc), and they even have that New York sound to them, the kind of edge and rawness that the scissor sisters and blondie both have. Musically, The sound very much like Hole (Courtney Love is my hero!!) mixed with blondie. They are soo good, and definately should be checked out!

A Little about...

Well... Hi, I'm not going to tell you my name. The purpose of this website that I've just created is to share the amazing music that I'm listening to and share sample of it, so maybe you can listen to it too!! I will be making a great deal of change to this website in the near future, so hold on and be amazed!
now the name... You see I got it from this album that I really liked: "Pawn Shoppe Heart", by the Vonbondies. That is the type of music I will be posting here... Well, I listen to a great deal of music so its not all like the Vonbondies. I really enjoy Nine Inch Nails, at the same time I LOVE Madonna, so hopefully u get the idea.
More to come on the very near future, so hold on!
